Solar Victoria’s hot-water rebate can help reduce the upfront cost of an eligible heat-pump or solar hot-water system. The rebate is calculated after other discounts and is generally 50% of the product purchase price, up to the program limit.

Before you apply

Common eligibility checks.

Solar Victoria’s requirements can change, so confirm the current rules before signing a quote. The pathway generally includes:

You own and occupy an existing Victorian property.
Combined taxable income of all owners is below $150,000 per year.
The property value is under $3 million.
The address has not already received a Solar Homes hot-water or battery rebate.
The hot-water system being replaced is at least three years old.
The selected product is on Solar Victoria’s eligible-products list and the work is completed by an authorised retailer.

Talk through your home

We look at your current hot-water system, household needs, available space and the move to efficient electric hot water.

Check the rebate pathway

We discuss the Solar Victoria requirements, eligible products and any other discounts that may apply before you commit.

Quote and pre-approval

An authorised retailer quote is uploaded to the Solar Victoria portal. You then complete the eligibility checks and wait for pre-approval.

Install and complete

Once approved, we coordinate the installation and help you understand the final paperwork and payment process.
